Before I started building surfboards I was an avid enthusiast and “collector” of handmade traditional surfboards, both modern and vintage. Having studied both fine art and robotic engineering, I have a mutual appreciation for not only how the structure of a surfboard informs the ride characteristics, but also how the aesthetic value influences the “emotion” evoked while riding and owning a surfboard. In my subjective opinion, this only really carries over from handmade crafts as opposed to something made in a machine.

Thus, I am dedicated to handshaping every board I sell from start to finish, using traditional shaping techniques and premium foam. All of my surfboards are laminated by industry professionals to the custom specs that I agree upon with my customers. I am heavily involved in the glassing process from start to finish, ensuring that every finished product meets my standards and provides the aesthetic value that I’m driving towards.

Why do I donate?

For the last two years, I have been donating 10% of the profits from every board I sell to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a nonprofit organization that acts to restore and protect our oceans and the marine life that call our oceans home.

I feel as though, as surfers, we owe far more to the ocean than we give, and many of us watch as bystanders while our generation destroys what has brought us so much happiness. I’m making an effort to pay respect to the ocean by giving back, as thanks for all it’s given to me.
